For the second time in recent months the conversation on the most widely viewed cable news program, the O'Reilly Factor, hosted by Bill O'Reilly, has turned to the urgent need for a Christian Anti-Defamation Organization.

On the April 15th broadcast, vicious anti-Christian comments by Bill Maher, host of the HBO program Real Time with Bill Maher, were the subject for discussion between host Bill O'Reilly and guest Newt Gingrich.

On his program, Bill Maher said, "Now I know what you're thinking, Bill. You can't be saying that the Catholic Church is no better than this creepy Texas cult. For one thing, altar boys can't even get pregnant. But really, what tripped up the little cult on the prairie was that they only abused hundreds of kids, not thousands all over the world. Cults get raided; religions get parades.

"How does the Catholic Church get away with all of their buggery? Volume, volume, volume. If you have a few hundred followers and you let some of them molest children, they call you a cult leader. If you have a billion, they call you pope."

In response to these comments Newt Gingrich said that this kind of inflamatory rhetoric demonstrated the great need for a Christian Anti-Defamation Organization. To read a section of the transcript click here.

"Christian bashing is only getting more frequent and intense," said Rev. Gary Cass, Chairman and CEO of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission (CADC). "This is just the latest example of Bill Maher's vicious hatred for Christians under the guise of comedy. It is immoral for Christians to passively allow the enemies of Christ to defame His church or His Gospel."

We are grateful that Newt Gingrich and Bill O'Reilly agree that there is a need for the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission.
