In the fight to save traditional marriage, another victory has taken place in an unlikely state.
Known for its progressive politics, Hawaii surprised everyone this week. Back in 1998, Hawaii passed a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages, but left open the door for civil unions.
A new Civil Union bill was passed by the Hawaii legislature that would have made Hawaii one of only six states to grant same-sex couples all the rights of marriage, but without granting marriage itself. The pressure was on Governor Linda Lingle to sign the bill into law, but when Lingle ran for Governor she declared she was against same sex-marriage. We commend Lingle for keeping her word and vetoing this dangerous bill.
TAKE ACTION:
Radical statists and socialists want to destroy the family and replace it with dependency on the state. Help us as we stand up for God’s institution of marriage. Contact Governor Lingle today and encourage her in her decision to protect the sanctity of marriage. Click here to contact her online.
