Jesus calls us to stand up for God’s honor. The very first thing He taught his disciples to pray was, “Hollowed be thy name!”  To honor our Heavenly Father in word and deed was Christ’s first priority and He calls us to do the same.

If we do not properly fear and respect God, our highest authority, then respect for all authority ultimately breaks down. Yes, our Holy Triune God is worthy of all honor, but it’s to our own advantage to grant Him that respect. The loss of the fear of the Lord in society always results in disaster.  

This is why, for the past couple weeks, we have been engaging in an aggressive new campaign directed at Comedy Central, the cable television network. Comedy Central specializes in irreverent and shocking type “humor” directed at young people. Now they are taking anti-Christian blasphemy to a whole new level. 

          This comes just days after Comedy Central’s recent controversy. They were forced to remove images of Muhammad from a show because of a flood of criticism by Muslims who consider any images of Muhammad to be blasphemous. 

But Comedy Central apparently could care less about what Christians think. They are currently in the process of producing a blasphemous show about Jesus Christ. In the show, Jesus is depicted as a disgruntled son who wants to escape the shadow of his powerful, but apathetic Father who is preoccupied with video games.

The show entitled “JC” is being defended by Comedy Central’s executives. They assert that comedy “in its purest form always makes some people uncomfortable.” But, Comedy Central has just demonstrated that they can be very accommodating to concerns of Muslims.

I’m fed up with the hypocritical, anti-Christian double standard! Aren’t you?

          Please join us in our campaign to stop Comedy Central from airing this inflammatory and offensive show.  We have recently joined a coalition of Christian organizations fighting this new show. But we must act quickly. There are three things you can do to help.

First pray!

Ask God to intervene in the hearts of the program producers who think they should try to make a quick buck by mocking Christ.
