Julea Ward had the hopes of becoming a certified counselor. With a 3.9 grade point average, she was only a few months away from graduating with a Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. But recently her hopes were dashed.

In a violation of her religious liberty, the University expelled Julea from her Master’s program because she refused to engage in activities contrary to her Christian faith. What was so egregious that caused Julea to be expelled? She would not argue in favor of sinful homosexual lifestyles. When approached by her teacher to counsel someone about their homosexual relationship Julea politely declined and referred the client to another counselor.

Now the Michigan legislature is seeking to approve a bill requiring university counseling programs to accommodate the religious beliefs of students. We really need you to help for this critical battle.

Help defend Julia’s right to follow her Christian faith and conscience. Contact the Michigan House of Representatives today and urge that they adopt the recently passed Senate Bill 1157 for higher education, and protect the religious liberties of university students.
