| Rifqa Bary Faces Deportation to Muslim Sri Lanka |

 For months we have been watching the life and death drama of seventeen year old Rifqa Bary. Rifqa ran away from home last year after her devout Muslim father threatened her life for converting to Christianity. Muslim honor killings are common in the Islamic world and Rifqa rightly fears for her life. Currently she is foster care in Ohio, but things are getting complicated. During the bitter custody battles, evidence emerged that Rifqa’s family is in the country illegally. Rifqa’s attorney is asking a judge to allow Rifqa to apply for special immigration status so when she turns eighteen this August she will not be in the US illegally. If Rifqa is sent back to Sri Lanka her life would be in greater danger of a Muslim honor killing. TAKE ACTION: Pray for Rifqa and then help us keep the pressure on Ohio officials to keep her safe. Contact Ohio Governor Strickland today and demand that he keep Rifqa safe from her father's threats, and deportation.
