This past summer Rifqa Bary, a seventeen year cheerleader, fled from her home in Ohio
Every year all around the world thousands of women are killed by their Muslim families in so called honor killings. Now a very bitter legal battle has erupted between Rifqa and her parents.
The parent’s attorney in Florida originally told the judge they would not seek custody if Rifqa was sent back to Ohio and that she could stay in foster care until she turns eighteen.
But ever since Rifqa was sent back to Ohio the parent’s have reneged on all agreements and have been fighting tenaciously for custody. While it was thought that they had reached a settlement last month, the parents recently decided not to sign the agreement.
A new custody hearing set for February 16th. Please, pray for Rifqa and then help us apply pressure to keep her safe.
TAKE ACTION:
Contact Governor Strickland today and demand that he keep Rifqa safe from her father's threats.
