It has been a very busy year for CADC. As we end one of the most tumultuous years in American history, we have witnessed an unprecedented level of anti-Christian attacks on our faith and freedoms. We witnessed the President of the United States tell an audience of Muslims in Turkey that America is not a Christian nation. Even a Federal Department of Home Land Security report labeled Bible-believing Christians as potential terrorists. Yet, we have also seen the Lord moving and using CADC in a mighty way. HATE CHRISTIANS LAW
The greatest threat to religious liberty in our history is Obama’s new Federal Hate Crime law. It is intended to silence Christian’s criticism of sexual immorality and Islam and now has been signed into law by President Obama. The bill is really a “Hate Christian Bill” as seen in the way other countries have implemented hate laws against believers. We labored diligently to stop the hate laws and delivered thousands of anti-hate crime petitions to the US Senate.
As soon as the bill was signed, CADC helped organize a Rally for Religious Free Speech. Ministers from across America joined me to challenge the unconstitutional hate bill. An attorney, Paul Diamond, came all the way from England to warn how hate crime laws have destroyed Christian liberty in England. Standing right in front of the Department of Justice in Washington DC we preached the biblical truth about homosexuality.
We felt it was imperative to assert our First Amendment rights to see if US Attorney General, Eric Holder, would attempt to silence us. Of course, homosexual protesters surrounded and heckled us, but at times the Word of God cut right to their heart. Thankfully, we were not arrested.
One of CADC’s faithful supporters came to the event. He wrote, “Dear Gary, I saw the power of God at work in you and the other pastors in so many ways yesterday and felt extremely blessed to have been present. The love of Christ that each of you extended to homosexuals in general and those who were there protesting was an amazing display of God's grace in your lives.” Yet for graciously standing up for God’s Truth, we have been slandered and defamed. Yet it is a formula for advancing the culture of death. Besides adding up to 100 new bureaucracies and 100,000 new bureaucrats to come between you and your doctor, the new health care bill still has its “death panel” provisions. God help our dear senior citizens! Soon they will be pressured to “do the right thing” and die, rather than have a potentially lifesaving operation.
If passed, the new bill will force taxpayers to subsidize abortion. Seventy one percent of Americans oppose this radical idea, but we could be a few weeks from passing the most radical, abortion-promoting, liberty-stealing bill in American history.
Fortunately, there is a ground swell of opposition rising up in reaction to these and other wicked policies. Raucous town hall meetings and huge Tea Party rallies give us hope that the majority of American’s who identify themselves as conservative or moderates have had a snoot full of Obama’s radicalism. CADC is sounding the alarm about the horrific, anti-Christian aspects of this dangerous bill.
RADICAL APPOINTMENTS CONTINUE The Obama administration is the most radical pro-homosexual administration in history. This is clearly seen in Obama’s nomination of Chai Feldblum to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. When asked how she might respond when religious liberty and homosexual “rights” conflict, Feldblum replied that she would have “a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win.”
As a drafter of another dangerous new bill, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, Feldblum has also stated that when it comes to the rights of Christians to hire employees of their choice, “Gays win; Christians lose.” In her world even churches would have to hire those who live in opposition to their ministry and mission. Her nomination is a most dangerous precedent and we are actively opposing it.

LIBERAL DESPERATION
For decades liberal politicians have known that it is the followers of Christ who stand in their way. They hate the God of the Bible because he calls them to be responsible for their actions and holds them accountable for their sin. Because they refuse to repent and believe on Jesus Christ, and live according to His standards of righteousness and justice they seek to silence Christians.
A corrupt, liberal media is also complicit in their desire to silence Christians and to pollute the culture with their pagan immorality. One very recent example is the last American Music Awards on ABC. It showed a raunchy, sexually provocative performance including a homosexual kiss between two men. This is disgusting proof of a media culture at war with God. CADC is calling for ABC to be fined.
CADC IS YOUR VOICE!
The Bible is filled with examples of what God can do if just a few will have the courage to stay true to His Word. America’s own history is filled with mighty spiritual awakenings that have brought dramatic social reform. I believe that God can and will do it again. In the meantime, we pray for God’s mercy, boldly preach His Word, defend the Gospel and stand for His righteousness. Then, having done all, by His grace, and with the prayers and support of our partners, we will continue to stand!
Space does not permit me to list all the campaigns and activities of the past year, but CADC has been in the thick of the battle for America’s soul. Here’s a sample. In 2009 we released the “Top Ten Instances of Christian Bashing of 2008” Campaign: This effort gave us many earned media opportunities to inform Christians about the increasing anti-Christian spirit that is gripping our culture.
CADC called on California Attorney General, Jerry Brown, to enforce the laws protecting Christians across California in the wake of increased levels of violence because of Proposition 8, the Marriage Amendment. The same kind of activity was recently reported in Maine against churches after marriage supporters overturned a homosexual marriage law.
In 2009, CADC was constantly defending Christians from anti-Christian bigotry - Rev. Walter Hoye who was jailed in Oakland for simply offering women an alternative to abortion, Carrie Prejean who was humiliated in the Miss USA pageant by a homosexual judge because she defended traditional marriage, Rev. Don Wildmon who was attacked by homosexuals for his TV special, Speechless.
When CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, attacked Christian broadcasters in Detroit for telling the truth about Islam, CADC came to their aid. CADC confronted the Southern Poverty Law Center for labeling well respected pro-family organizations as hate groups. Child Evangelism Fellowship in Tulsa Oklahoma was told that it would not be able to return to a housing project unless they stop using the name of Jesus or else leave. CADC intervened to help reverse the policy. When a church that was viciously attacked because of a video on the internet showed them praying for God to deliver a young man from homosexuality, CADC defended the church. Liberty University was attacked by Barry Lynn of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State who called for an IRS investigation of Liberty University. CADC called for the IRS to investigate Barry Lynn.

CADC responded to a publicly funded art exhibit in Glasgow, Scotland which had its visitors deface a copy of the Bible that was on display. It invited visitors, saying “If you feel you have been excluded from the Bible, please write your way back into it.” People began to litter the pages with vulgar remarks. Even after much outrage was expressed about the art exhibit it continued on. Then British author Sebastion Faulks merely criticized the Koran in a newspaper interview. A day later Faulks was forced to apologize and recant his statement illustrating the double standard used against Christians. Throughout the year CADC has responded to the many radical appointments of the Obama Administration, including that of Gov. Kathleen Sibelius, a radical pro-abort, to Secretary of Health and Human Services and Kevin Jennings, Obama’s Safe School “czar.” Jennings is a militant, homosexual activist from Massachusetts who advocates dangerous sexual behaviors by children and adults through after school clubs in public schools. When CBS defamed the National Organization for Marriage as a hate group, CADC called for an apology. Newsweek Magazine published two anti-Christian cover stories; “The Decline and Fall of Christian America” and “Our Mutual Joy” stating the Bible is not against homosexual marriage. CADC published responses to their misleading lies.
After the Muslim organizers of a public event in Michigan attacked a group of Christian evangelists who were discriminated against and lied about to the police, CADC confronted the organizers. When told that they cannot pray in Jesus’ name by Freedom from Religion Foundation, CADC worked to support a California pastor and councilman. When a Christian business in Virginia was told that it was discriminatory to use a Christian symbol in their advertising CADC called on the State of Virginia to stop singling out Christians for discrimination.
CADC supported two school administrators in Florida who were sued for engaging in a prayer during a school sponsored event and who faced thousands of dollars in fines and years in jail. CADC is still working to protect a teenage Christian convert, Rifqa Bary. She is fighting for her freedom after her Muslim father threatened to kill her in accordance with Muslim honor killings. When a pro-life missionary, Jim Pouillon was murdered in Michigan outside his granddaughter’s school for displaying pro-life signs CADC came to the support of the Pouilon family.
CADC has supported Trevor Keezer, who was fired while working for Home Depot in Okeechobee, Florida for wearing a button that said, “one nation under God” to show support of the country and the troops.
In a recent episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, on HBO, the star, Larry David, urinated on a photo of Jesus Christ. HBO defended this blasphemous scene as playful and harmless. Imagine if the same thing was done to Jewish or Muslim religious symbols. CADC has contacted HBO and expressed its outrage. The Freedom from Religion Foundation threatened the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater because they advertised a student led prayer vigil on its web-site for Amy Krueger who was tragically killed at the recent shooting at Fort Hood, so CADC contacted the university and urged them not to be intimidated.
