Rifqa Bary Awaits Hearing Print E-mail
Monday, 21 December 2009 17:59

Rifqa Bary, a petite seventeen year old cheerleader from Ohio, fled to a church in Florida because she feared for her life. Rifqa BaryWhy? Because her family, immigrates from Sri Lanka, are devout Muslims, and her father threatened to kill Rifqa because she converted to Christianity.  Every year thousands of women are killed by their Muslim families in so called honor killings.

After a difficult legal struggle, a Florida judge ordered Rifqa back to Ohio and into foster care where she has been isolated from visitors, including from Christian clergy.

Next Tuesday a critical dependency hearing will determine if Rifqa will be forced to return to her parents. She still fears for her safety.

In order to encourage Rifqa, please send her an encouraging Christmas card today. Let her know that you are praying for her.

TAKE ACTION:
  1. Pray for Rifqa’s court appearance and safety.
  2. Contact Governor Strickland today and demand that he allow Rifqa to have pastoral guidance.

God is good and he has a plan for your best... he will reward you for you
courage. This is love for our God, its inspiring to see a young girl standing up
for her creator in this malign planet.
