A group of students from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater have decided to hold a prayer vigil for a former student, But in response to a notice for the vigil posted on the schools website, the Freedom from Religion Foundation has threatened the school because the event is religious in nature. But the university has done nothing wrong. They are allowed to let students know about an event that is student-led, even if it is religious. There is something profoundly wrong about interfering with students who are gathering to mourn the murder of Amy. The Freedom from Religion Foundation has a record of threatening any sort of public religious expression, even when the Supreme Court has ruled it appropriate. Help us urge the University to not be bullied by the Freedom from Religion Foundation.
